IBYE Awards 2018The Challenge
Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Awards (IBYE) are a national initiative run locally by each Local Enterprise Office (LEO) before progressing to Regional Finals and ultimately to a National Final. TL Marketing was approached by the Dublin Regional IBYE Committee and tasked with coordinating the Dublin Regional IBYE 2018 Final. The scope of the event is extensive as it includes a full day of interviews with the judges and finalists, followed by the awards ceremony in the evening. The key deliverables for the event were; securing a high profile venue, organising catering and musical entertainment, securing an AV company to manage sound and lighting, booking a photographer and managing and co-ordinating the smooth running of the event on the day.
Our objective? Delivering a memorable and impeccably ran event to surpass the standard and prestige of all previous IBYE Regional Finals.
The Strategy
Following an initial meeting with the Dublin Regional IBYE Committee, where we outlined their objectives for the event and the budget we had to work within, we prepared a comprehensive action plan with associated deadlines and began to secure the initial elements of the project. This involved site visits of possible venues, tastings with caters, collecting quotes from AV companies, entertainment options and photographers.
The event was held at the Royal College of Physicians on Kildare Street, meeting the brief for a visually impressive and high profile city centre venue. The prestige of the event was reflected in the standard of the catering that we secured, the decor and soft themed lighting that transformed the space, and the 3 piece classical ensemble that entertained the guests – all creating the perfect blend of sophistication and elegance for the event.
As per our action plan, we had secured all external suppliers by the deadline and all within our allocated budget. The next key responsibility for us was to maintain regular contact with the Dublin Regional IBYE Committee and with the judges that they secured for the event, collating all of the finalist info and passing it on to each judge so that they would have adequate time to review the applicants before the day of the finals.
On the day of the event we were present at the venue prior to all other personnel and the judges to ensure the set up was correct and we remained at the venue for the entire day/evening as the main point of contact for any issues, enquiries and deliveries.
The Outcome
The event was a great success with the Committee and guests commenting on how well the venue looked, the quality of the catering and entertainment and how smoothly the entire day went.
